Every Friday I get a text from my friend Mikhail asking if I can go up to Duncan to shoot some bouldering. With my all-consuming school schedule I wasn’t able to find the time to make the trip until the second-last day of my final break – three weeks before he leaves for NSCAD. Noah and I drove up to Duncan, met up with Mikhail, and hiked until we met up with Greg, Jane, Tiana, and their friends.
The hike in took about 45 minutes. It was mostly uphill – some of it along switchbacks – but it took us through waist-height ferns and along narrow, sloping paths. In other words, it was sweet.
